Platinum Jubilee Flower Festival

by StMichaels Office

In Chagford we are going ‘all out’ to celebrate this unique (in Britain) occasion and, alongside the events being planned by the Parish Council, will be holding a Flower Festival in Chagford Church from June 2nd - 5th 10.00 am – 5.30 pm each day.

This promises to be a real community effort with all sorts of people already involved including the Primary School, flower arrangers and local organisations and businesses, and we anticipate that people will visit Chagford from far and wide as we open the town, and all it has to offer, to visitors for this special event.

Around twenty different flower and plant displays will each depict an event or particular interest of Her Majesty’s from throughout her long reign.

A special feature of the Flower Festival is that we will have a large screen erected in the church and will show the Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving live from St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday June 3rd. So, there’s no reason to miss out on the celebrations - join with your friends and neighbours in the church, to watch this very special service together. We might also broadcast the Derby on Saturday June 4th live too!
